My beloved Rebecca has made me proud – Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has said he is extremely proud of his wife for listening to the cry of women and children and contributing towards completing the mother and baby unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
The First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo with the support of philanthropists and stakeholders in the health sector have completed the building of the mother and children care unit at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
The move by the First Lady was influenced by a report by Joy News’ Seth Kwame Boateng’s report that brought to light the various challenges mother and children go through at the hospital and how it is contributing to the increase in maternal mortality.
After five months, the unit of the mothers and Children is being commissioned today.
The President in a tweet acknowledging the good works of his wife said “I am extremely proud of my beloved Rebecca ( @RAkufoAddo ).
Today’s commissioning of the Mother and Baby Unit at KATH is a welcome development, which will help reduce, drastically, the mortality rate of mothers and babies at the hospital. Kudos!! # SaveAChildSaveAMother”.
