Economist and a former lecturer at the Kumasi Technical University Thomas Kusi Boafo is urging Ghanaians to show some gratitude to Akufo-Addo led administration for what it has been able to achieve so far almost a year in office.
He said it is disheartening when he hears of some people complaining and questioning the way the current government is handling the economy.
"Sometimes I asked Ghanaians that if they were patient for the economy to be mismanaged and even paralyzed why they won’t be patient for the economy to be healed," he said.
Speaking on Oman FM's political analysis programme "Boiling Point" Thomas Kusi Boafo, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Public Sector Reforms said the country's economy was in a state of paralysis a year ago, but said he is elated the economy is now recovering because it is being managed by a competent administration.
Giving assessment of the economic situation in the country prior to the 2016 elections, Kusi Boafo said Ghanaians were reeling under electricity crisis, corruption as well as socioeconomic challenges such as joblessness and abuse of political power.
He however, said the situation is changing because Ghanaians no longer called their homes after close of work to find out whether there is power at homes.
He added that Akufo-Addo’s administration has worked hard by restoring fiscal discipline noting that economic indicators which hitherto pointed to negative are now showing positive signs.
