MCE praises Residents of Ashaiman for compliance

The Municipal Chief Executive for Ashaiman Albert Boakye Okyere has commended the residents of Ashaiman for complying with the Assembly’s directive to all shop operators to close their shops until after 10am when the national sanitation exercise is over.
He observed that compliance to the directive was very impressive saying this has never happened before.
“For the first time I have observed that there is high compliance of an order in Ashaiman town so I’m using this opportunity to thank them.
“So many shops were closed and their owners did not stand or sit idle but they took part in the exercise too. I’m very happy,” Mr. Boakye Okyere stated.
It would be recalled that the immediate National Democratic Congress administration instituted National Sanitation Day exercise to encourage Ghanaians to clean their immediate surroundings.
The Sanitation Day is observed every first Saturday of the month.
Speaking to Oman FM after the exercise on Saturday, 7th October, 2017, Mr Albert Boakye Okyere indicated that what he witnessed during the exercise is a clear demonstration of the readiness of the residents to be law abiding.
The Chief Executive who could not hide his excitement was of the view that with wave of change in Ashaiman there is going to be restoration of discipline and order in Ashaiman.
He called on the residents to partner with the Assembly to change the image of Ashaiman by being law abiding and desist from indiscriminate disposal of garbage.
Touching on the Assembly’s new street parking policy, Mr Albert Okyere urged commercial drivers operating from Ashaiman to observe the new parking lot and park accordingly to prevent vehicular traffic in the town.
