The Progressive People’s Party has cautioned the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) against repeating some of the mistakes that the opposition National Democratic Congress did while they were in government.

According to the party, one of the mistakes the NDC did was the politicization of loan disbursement by Microfinance and Small Loan Centre (MASLOC) where only members of the NDC were assisted.

Speaking on Oman FM’s National Agenda programme on Tuesday, Mr. Felix Mantey, who is the youth affairs leader of PPP alleged that information available to him indicate that non-NPP members who have visited MASLOC office in some of the districts to access loans were being denied assistance.

Felix Mantey who spoke against the politicization of MASLOC cited Kpone Katamanso District as an example where non- NPP members were turned away.

“I have understood that there is the formation of women groups and this groups I’m told should come from a particular political party before you will be offered assistance. I’m a resident of Kpone and this is what is currently happening,” he stated.

He warned the ruling NPP to be careful about the way it is going about politicizing MASLOC saying it would hurt the party in the end.

He explained that some Ghanaians decided to punish the NDC in the last General Elections because of the wrong things they did.

Felix Mantey accused the NDC of using MASLOC as a conduit to rob the country of millions of Cedis.
