Kweku Awotwi Chairs VRA Board

The former Chief Executive Officer of the Volta River Authority (VRA) Mr. Kweku Andoh Awotwi has been appointed by President Akufo-Addo to chair the newly constituted Board of Directors of the state power generation entity, VRA.

Mr. Awotwi who is currently a Principal with Africa Power Systems Management (APSM) served as CEO of VRA between June 2009 and December 2013 under late Professor J.E.A. Mills’s administration.

Prior to that appointment, Mr. Kweku Awotwi was a Principal of Triton Group Limited.

He has also held the following positions; Managing Director of Strategic Planning and New Business Development at Ashanti Goldfields Co. Ltd, Manager of Business Planning and Analysis at Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corporation, where he served for eight years.

Mr. Awotwi is a trained Electrical Engineer and has worked for GE/RCA and ITT.

He holds B.Sc. degree from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Stanford's Graduate School of Business.

The newly constituted Board has the following personalities as members; Mr. Emmanuel Antwi –Darkwa current Chief Executive of VRA, Mr. Richard Obeng Okrah, Dr. Joyce Rosalind Aryee and Nana Kobina Nketsia V.

The rest are Mr. El-Farouk Umar, Mr. Musah Badimsugru Adam and Mrs. Janet Anane.
