Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe popularly known as ‘Abronye DC’, is angry at the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) and Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for not inviting the former First Lady Mrs. Lordina Mahama for questioning.

It was widely reported that EOCO was on heels of the maverick NPP executive last week but he claimed he never received any invite from them wondering why persons alleged to have wreaked havoc to the Ghanaian economy under the past administration are left uninvited including the former first lady.

He explained that the former Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD Dr. Stephen Opuni who is being interrogated by EOCO for awarding a ‘dubious’ $380million contract for the supply of fertilizers and cocoa bags allegedly mentioned the former first lady’s name as one of those who ripped COCOBOD off millions of dollars.

Speaking on Oman FM’s political analysis programme “Boiling Point” Kwame Baffoe could not fathom why the EOCO and BNI have not invited the former First Lady for questioning till date.

He accused the Director of EOCO, ACP K.K Amoah (rtd) of engaging in selective justice.

“When Dr. Opuni mentioned Lordina Mahama’s name and you’re still sitting there and watching what are you implying? Is she above the law,” he quizzed.

He argued that had the BNI and EOCO been up to their task to assist government in retrieving millions of Ghana Cedis which were stolen by former government appointees through dubious contracts, government would have had enough money to purchase fertilizers for cocoa farmers.

In his view, government had no money and explained that it is for that reason government gave green light to ADB to approve GHS10million facility to MacDan Group to enable them purchase fertilizers to supply farmers to boost cocoa production.
