President Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to officially launch the Free Senior High School (SHS) at West Africa Senior Secondary School (WASSS) at Adenta on Tuesday.

So far over 300,000 BECE students have been placed in the various Senior High Schools across the country to start enjoying the implementation of the Free SHS policy.

Free SHS policy is a campaign promise by President Nana Akufo-Addo to the people of Ghana.

Speaking on *Oman FM's* political analysis program "Boiling Point" the chairman of Ghana Education Service Council Michael Nsowah explained that government has made all the necessary financial arrangements for the implementation of the policy to take off smoothly.

He said "as I speak government has released GHS 280million for the Free SHS and by 2pm Friday the money will hit in the accounts of the various Senior High Schools."

He added that " government is going to release the remaining amount in the next few weeks."

Mr. Nsowah cautioned heads of the Senior High Schools against charging students any form of fees.

He said government would not hesitate to sanction any head who will be caught for asking students to pay any form of fees because government is bearing all the approved cost including cost for clothing for all the students and therefore do not see why any head would charge students fees.

He appealed to parents to endeavour to go and check the schools where their wards have been placed.
