The Member of Parliament for Ashaiman Hon. Henry Ernest Norgbey has urged students writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to study hard and pass well so they can benefit from the government free SHS policy.
According to him, the only way they will benefit from the free SHS policy is for them to pass well and get admission into the Senior High School.

“The only condition for you to benefit from the free SHS is for you to pass and get admission into your first choice schools,” he said.
The MP gave the advice when he toured some of the examination centres in the company of the Ashaiman Municipal Chief Executive Albert Boakye Okyere; Municipal Education Director Mrs. Patty Assan and the Presiding Member Hon. Braimah Bukari Abdulai.

The free SHS policy is a campaign promise by President Nana Akufo-Addo, then presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party.
It will be rolled out in September this year and the BECE candidates will be the first to benefit from the policy.
A total of 3446 students from Ashaiman are participating in the BECE.
Hon. Ernest Norgbey appealed to the students to desist from engaging in examination malpractices.
