7 more suspects grabbed over Capt. Mahama’s murder

Seven more persons believed to be involved in the gruesome attack and murder of Captain Maxwell Mahama at Denkyira-Boase in the Central Region have been arrested.

This brings to total 14, the number of suspects who have been arrested, and are being investigated over the murder.

Seven of those arrested have already made their first appearance in court, and have been remanded to police custody to reappear on 19th June, 2017.

New suspects

According to the Central Regional Police PRO, ASP Irene Oppong, one of the suspects was arrested at Techiman, while 5 others were arrested at Asankragua in the Western Region.

One of the suspects, identified as Charles Akwasi Buah, was arrested on Friday dawn following a tip-off by an informant at Gomoa Dominase near Kasoa in the Central Region.

Oman FM’s Central Regional correspondent Joojo Blankson who was reporting from Kasoa Divisional Police Command said the suspect Charles Akwasi Buah was reported by the lady friend of Akwasi’s girlfriend, from whom he sought shelter after fleeing Denkyira-Boase

He said the suspect admitted that he was part of those who lynched the late Captain Maxwell Mahama and pleaded for mercy.
