President’s MCE nominee for La Nkwantanang Madina Rejected

Assembly Members in the La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region have voted to reject President’s nominee Jennifer Dede Afagbedzi as their Municipal Chief Executive.

Out of the total number of 13 persons, only 4 voted “Yes” while the remaining 9 voting “No” to reject the nominee.

Per the local government law, she is required to get two thirds of the total votes cast to be confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive of the La Nkwantanang Madina Assembly.

While family members and friends who accompanied the nominee were left disappointed, some supporters of the NPP in Madina constituency jubilated over her rejection.

Speaking to Oman News’ reporter Uncle Ebo, who covered the exercise, one of those who were jubilating explained that the nominee was rejected because she is not known by majority of the party members in the constituency.
