Tema Central MP Endorses Tema MCE Nominee

Member of Parliament for Tema Central, Hon Kofi Brako popularly known as KB has thrown his support for President's nominee for Metropolitan Chief Executive position for Tema Felix Annang Mensa -La with a call on the Assembly Members to vote massively for him.

According to him, President Nana Akufo-Addo has reposed confidence in the nominee hence the need for the assembly members to confirm him.

The MP made the call during a meeting with Assembly Members from Tema Central Constituency.

The meeting was to engage the assembly members for them to rescind their decision to reject the nominee.

The Assembly Members had earlier thrown their support for Mr. Charles Boateng, the New Patriotic Party's Tema Central Chairman who was among five candidates contesting for the position, but failed his bid.

The developments made the failed MCE aspirant and his supporters very peeved and reportedly going round to incite other assembly members to reject the President’s nominee.

Although the Tema Metropolitan Assembly fixed Wednesday, May 10, 2017 for the confirmation the Assembly had to postpone the voting to Friday, May 12, 2017 because a report by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) revealed that grounds were not favourable for the nominee.

Speaking to Oman News in a telephone interview Hon. Kofi Brako indicated that he engaged the assembly members to rally behind the President’s nominee and confirm him to move Tema forward.

He noted that developments had stalled because of the absence a substantive Metropolitan Chief Executive

“I told them to bury all their grievances and endorse the nominee because he is the person the President has appointed. They should respect the decision of the President and do the needful by given him 100 % approval,” he stated.
