rule.

He said the nominee was a constituency organizer in Tema and rose through the ranks to become the 2nd Vice Chairman for the Greater Accra Region until his nomination as MCE for Ashaiman.

Hon. Ishmael Ashittey also urged the assembly members to endorse the nominee and pledged to open his doors to them.

Speaking to the gathering after his confirmation, Mr Albert Boakye Okyere commended the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and voting massively to endorse him.

Okyere who was very elated promised to re-brand Ashaiman and position it to attract the needed investments.

He explained that the level of indiscipline on the part of some residents in the area which has made people outside Ashaiman having bad impression about the area will be a thing of the past.

The newly elected MCE promised to run a transparent administration and called on the staff of the assembly to support him.

He cautioned that staff against laziness and lateness to work saying such behavior would not be tolerated.

The Member of Parliament for Ashaiman Hon. Ernest Norgbey commended the assembly members for approving the nominee at the first round.

He said the overwhelming endorsement of the nominee clearly shows the confidence the assembly members had reposed in him.

“This is the first time we have witnessed such an overwhelming endorsement of MCE in Ashaiman. During our time the confirmation went for about two or three rounds before the MCE nominees were confirmed. There was nothing like 100% endorsement as we have all witnessed today,” he stated.

The legislator who pledged his full support to the MCE urged him to eschew partisan politics
