Deputy Minister -designate for Works and Housing Hon Freda Prempeh has charged ministerial appointees to justify their appointments by working hard to ensure that President Akufo Addo deliver his campaign promises.
This, she explained, is the only way those criticizing president Akufo Addo of forming the largest government will be proven wrong.
"Those who have been vetted and have started working and those of us who are yet to be vetted should have it in mind that we are going to work very hard to so that the President can achieve the maximum results is expecting as early as possible to bring relief to Ghanaians. If we work hard then Nana will achieve his vision", she stated.
President Nana Akufo Addo has come under heavy criticism from the opposition National Democratic Congress and Civil Society groups including IMANI Ghana following the release of a list of 50 deputy ministers and 4 ministers of State Wednesday which brought the total number of his ministers to 110.
But speaking on Oman FM's National Agenda on Thursday, Hon Freda Prempeh, who is also the Member of Parliament for Tano North constituency defended President Akufo Addo's size of government.
She explained that "when you look at the programmes and plan of the President you can actually see there is a lot of work to be done and so we more hands to execute them."
"Just yesterday my Minister was even saying that he wished the deputies will be vetted as early as possible so they will also step in to relief them of the work load,” she stated.
She underscored the need for the appointees to be humble, moderate and above all exhibit commitment towards the fight against corruption to prevent abuse of public funds.
