Stop lamenting over size of Akufo-Addo’s gov’t- Ekumfi MP

The Member of Parliament for Ekumfi Constituency the Central Region Hon Kingsley Ato Cudjoe has urged those criticizing President Akufo -Addo over the size of his government to desist from it.

According to him, President Akufo Addo is an astute and accomplished politician who wouldn’t just get up and be appointing people to fill positions just to satisfy his party members.

He is of the view that President decided to increase his ministerial appointments to 110 in order to deliver on the numerous promises he made to Ghanaians prior to the December 7, 2016 elections.

Speaking on Oman FM’s National Agenda Hon. Kingsley Ato Cudjoe who defended President Akufo-Addo’s decision to form a large government indicated that the President is on course.

Although critics say the country would stand to lose with the size of the government, Hon. Ato Cudjoe argued that Ghana would rather stand to benefit since the ministers are experienced people and so would bring their experiences to bear to manage the economy well.

“As an accountant I always talk about cost benefit analysis and what I have witnessed is that sometimes when the company I was working with before I became a Member of Parliament (MP) takes a decision to make investments into the operations of the company, you will noticed that some of the staff will be complaining, but after two or three years and they begin to see the benefits of the investments, you see them turned around and appreciating it.”

He maintained that critics of the President are doing so because they lack understanding of the direction the president is leading the country to.

He thus called on the critics to restrain themselves from criticizing the president.
