Minister for Energy and Petroleum Mr Boakye has assured of his commitment to stabilize the energy sector and make sure that there is reliable supply of power.
He said his outfit is putting in place measures to ensure that there is sufficient power by the time the New Patriotic Party will leave office.
Speaking on Oman FM's political analysis programme "Boiling Point" Mr Boakye Agyarko, who accused previous Mahama administration of leaving behind a debt of 2.4billion dollars in the energy sector attributed it to corruption and signing of shady power purchasing agreements.
Mr. Boakye Agyarko explained that the country's energy sector had been debt ridden because it was "deal driven" instead of strategy driven during the previous National Democratic Congress administration headed by former President John Mahama.
As part of efforts to tackle corruption in the energy sector, Mr Agyarko disclosed that one of the things he is working on currently, is putting together a document which would serve as a guide to the Ministry, as far as power purchasing agreement is concerned.
The former vice president of the Bank of New York was hopeful the completion of the document would go a long way to stem corruption in the energy sector.
