The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is confident that persons he has nominated to various ministerial portfolios in the country would help him deliver the ‘best government ever’ in the history of Ghana.

Nana Akufo-Addo who was commenting on the quality of his appointees after presenting a list of Regional Ministers at the Flagstaff House on Tuesday, said, the performance of his appointees at the Vetting Committee proves that he has put together a great team.

“I believe that already, the Ghanaian people are seeing the quality of persons that I proposed…I think day after day they have proven that indeed they have the quality and the caliber we need to take our country up and move it to the next stage in the development of our nation.“

“I am very confident that these people that we have assembled are going to give us the best government in our history and a government that is going to take Ghana to the next stage of her social and economic development,” he said.

President Akufo-Addo since assuming office has named Ministers for key ministries including new ones he has created to achieve his agenda for job creation.

So far about 10 of the appointees including Minister designate for Energy, Power and Petroleum Mr. Boakye Agyarko and Minister designate for Education Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh have appeared before the Parliamentary vetting committee.

Public opinion on their performances before the committee have been generally positive with majority of Ghanaians commending Mr. Boakye Agyarko in particular for his excellent response to questions.

The President believes that the nominees have so far performed creditably well and hence thinks they deserve to be praised.

He further urged then Appointment Committee to expedite the process to ensure that the nominees go through the vetting successfully and approved as soon as possible for them to start work.

President Akufo-Addo also rallied support for his nominees, arguing that they are ready to offer nothing but the best in terms of performance.

“Prepare to give them maximum support to deliver on their mandate because they are going to undertake very difficult duties. I will continue to be an unrepentant optimist of the opportunities in Ghana,” he said.
