The founder of the Miracle Rock Fire Ministry in Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region has been reportedly stabbed to death in Oyibi in the Kpone Katamanso District.
Prophet Samuel Kwaku Akoto, who is said to be in his forties, was found dead with a pair of sandals by his side in a bush at Lom Nava, a village near Oyibi in the Kpone Katamanso District Sunday, January 15, 2017.
The deceased was found wearing a blue polo shirt over a pair of trousers, with his face on the ground.
Narrating the incident to Oman News, a member of the Miracle Fire Ministry Felix Osafo, said Prophet Samuel Kwaku Akoto left home on Saturday at about 5pm to visit someone in Oyibi, but did not return home.
He said the late Prophet Samuel Akoto’s wife made several calls to his mobile at about 8pm to find out why he had not returned home, but there was no response.
“The wife became alarmed and called to inform me about the issue so I also called his phone several times but there was no response from him. We were very worried because we didn’t understand why he was not responding to our calls.
"We couldn’t even sleep throughout the night,” Mr. Felix Osafo explained.
Mr. Felix Osafo indicated that they continued their search for him the following morning by calling his mobile phone, but said after several calls were made, someone finally responded but the person told them that the owner of the phone was dead.
“We then asked for the exact location and proceeded to the scene, where we realized that there was a struggle between him and some people before he was stabbed.”
When asked whether he was aware that the deceased had a personal grudge with someone leading to his killing, he responded in the negative saying, "Prophet Akoto is someone who is jovial and treats everybody with respect and dignity.
“I can vouch for his integrity and honesty,” Mr. Felix Osafo added.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Police hospital.
The Tema Regional Police Public Relations Officer ASP Juliana Obeng who confirmed the incident to Oman News said her outfit has commenced investigation into the case.
