A member of the incoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration Nana Boakye has charged supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to be angry and chase their national and regional executives out of office for the party’s defeat in last year's election.
Nana B, as he is affectionately called wondered why supporters of the NDC have not descended on their executives for letting them down.
According to him, the NDC supporters should demand explanation from the party’s leadership why the party lost the December 7 polls after being given huge sums money to embark on a vigorous campaign for the party to retain power.
"Instead of you foot soldiers and serial callers of NDC descend on your executives for failing you, you have kept quiet and watching them."
"This is the time to rise up against them. Go for early congress and kick them out of office," he charged.
National Executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Thursday at a press conference addressed by its national chairman Kofi Porturphy and General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketsia accused President Nana Akufo- Addo of failing to call supporters of his party who are allegedly seizing public toilets and also attacking supporters of NDC supporters to order.
But speaking to Oman FM in an interview Nana Boakye who denied allegations by NDC that its supporters are being attacked by NPP members described the allegations as baseless.
“This is a deliberate attempt by the NDC executives to divert attention of its supporters from demanding explanation as to why the party lost the December 7 polls,” he explained.
Nana Boakye who accused the NDC executives of pocketing the party’s campaign funds urged supporters of the NDC to account for all the monies they took for campaign.
