The newly sworn in Member of Parliament for Afiduase Asokore in the Ashanti Region Hon. Dr. Nana Afriyie Ayew has asked nominees for the various ministerial positions to exhibit loyalty to the people of Ghana.

“You should be loyal to God, the people of Ghana and the President who appointed you,” he charged.

Hon. Dr. Nana Ayew further asked them to be humble and respect Ghanaians by being good listeners when people are expressing concerns about issues affecting them and take steps to address them.

President Nana Akufo –Addo has so far nominated 25 persons for ministerial appointments.

Some of the nominees are Dr. Anthony Osei Akoto, Minister for Monitoring and Evaluation; Mr. Ken Ofori Atta, Minister for Finance; Prof Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation; John Peter Amewu, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources; Otiko Afisa Djaba, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection; Hon Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Minister for Employment and Labour Relations and Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, Minister for Transport.

Speaking on Oman FM’s National Agenda, Hon. Dr. Nana Ayew reminded the nominees about their constitutional obligation to the people of Ghana saying that those nominees should bear in mind that they are going to work for the people of Ghana and not for themselves.

“You are going to work for the people of Ghana and not for yourselves. So you should get closer to the people and listen to them,” he stressed.

He underscored the need for the nominees to emulate the humility of the President and his respect for the people of Ghana and demonstrate same in their dealings with Ghanaians.
