The Founder and General Overseer of the Adonai International Ministries Bishop Dr. Richard Ahiagbedey has called on the incoming Nana Akufo- Addo administration to embark on what he described as house-cleaning exercise to rid the public sector of corrupt and bad characters.
This, he explained, is the only way the nation will experience the real impact of the “Change Agenda” many Ghanaians called for prior to the December 7 polls.
Bishop Dr. Richard Ahiagbedey noted that a lot of mess had been caused in the public sector over the last four years under the outgoing National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, stressing that the mess had to be cleared.
“There is the need for a house-cleaning because a lot of mess has gone on and this new government must take the bull by the horn and clean the system and build on the proper structures.
“We want a situation where state institutions will work effectively and efficiently. This should be spearheaded by professionals in the country,” he stressed.
The President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to be sworn into office on Saturday 7th January, 2017, as the 1992 constitution demands, but even before Nana Akufo-Addo assumes office as President, Bishop Ahiagbedey expected him to hit the ground running by taking immediate steps to tackle corruption in the public sector.
Speaking to Oman FM in an interview ahead of the inauguration ceremony of the president elect, Bishop Dr. Richard Ahiagbedey also urged the incoming administration to eschew arrogance and corruption.
Additionally, he advised the Nana Addo administration to prioritize the health, education and agriculture sectors of the country's economy.
He further charged the new government to exhibit humility and offer servant leadership and avoid lording themselves over Ghanaians.
He appealed to them to seek the welfare of the masses who queued on the Election Day to cast their votes for them.
In a related development, the founder of the Anointing Prayer and Evangelistic Ministry in Tema Apostle-Prophet Dr Francis Kwadwo Owusu called on the President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo to ensure that there is rule of law during his presidency.

He explained that there had been instances of human rights abuse and selective justices which should not be repeated in his administration.
“We are in a constitutional era so we should allow the constitution to take its course. We shouldn’t suppress the rights of some people because they are poor. Those days of selective justice should be a thing of the past,” Apostle Francis Owusu stressed.
The man of God who bemoaned the level of corruption and bribery scandals that rocked the outgoing NDC government underscored the need for the NPP administration to take a cue from it and avoid doing similar practices, saying Ghanaians would punish them in the next elections if they repeat the mistakes of the NDC.
He advised the Nana Akufo-Addo and his team to draw closer to God for counsel and direction to enable them to govern well.
He reminded the incoming NPP government of the spiritual power in their campaign theme: 'The battle is the Lord’s' and stressed on the need for them to continue trusting in God as they take over the administration of the nation.
Meanwhile, the founder of the Holy Ghost Fire Hour Ministry in Klagon, Evangelist Emmanuel Boakye Danquah has also appealed to President elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo –Addo to show love towards the underprivileged in the society by implementing programmes and policies to cater for their welfare needs.
