A former National Youth Organizer of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) Abu Ramadan is asking incoming Nana Akufo –Addo administration to demote any officer in the security agencies who was promoted after December 7 polls.

He claimed that the outgoing National Democratic Congress (NDC) government after losing the elections had deliberately promoted officers whose promotion were delayed four years ago including those who are not even due for promotion.

“There are certain officers, who were due for promotion four years ago, but the government delayed and now that they are leaving power they want to promote them and even those who are not qualified to be promoted,” he stated.

Speaking on Oman FM’s National Agenda on Thursday, Abu Ramadan, who recently defected to the NPP, sounded a word of caution to those officers to be mindful of accepting such promotion since they could be demoted by the incoming government.

He explained that there are laid down procedures which every officer is required to go through to rise to the top and urged the incoming administration to deal with attempts by the NDC to circumvent the system.

“If they want they should promote them to the rank of commissioners or IGP. I’m sounding this warning to them that anybody who is promoted will be demoted,” Abu Ramadan stated.
