KENCITY MEDIA EXPRESSES FEAR OF POSSIBLE INTERFERENCES IN TRANSMISSIONS

The Management of Kencity Media Ltd, operators of Oman FM, Ashh FM and Net 2 TV has picked intelligence that, once again, their Stations are sure to be sabotaged and taken off air during this year’s elections.

It may be recalled that, during 2012 elections, just when the polling results started trickling in; the Networks transmissions were interfered with jamming devices.

The National Communications Authority (NCA) at the time claimed no knowledge of these unlawful acts; but Media watchers on the contrary, did say that no such attempts could have been made without the explicit knowledge and connivance of the NCA, who are the regulators of the frequencies in the country.

Reports gathered so far indicate that personalities (names withheld for now) have planned and contracted people to perpetuate this act during the 2016 elections; and jamming machines have been installed at various strategic points.

We condemn in no uncertain terms these diabolic moves aimed at restricting the Network from discharging its democratic responsibilities and wish to call on all well meaning Ghanaians, the Diplomatic Community, and International Observers to intervene and stop these acts
