Reports reaching Oman News indicates that NPP’s flags which had been hoisted on streets lights in the constituency have also been removed by some supporters of the Member of Parliament for the area.
Although the programme was expected to start in the afternoon supporters of the NPP started arriving in the morning to book their seats.
The MP’s supporters allegedly arrived at the venue on motorbikes after, seeing NPP supporters busily preparing the venue for the campaign and began to brandish their knives and other implements to scare them.
One of the NPP supporters, Mr. Obed Asamoah, who confirmed the developments to Oman News, indicated that they were busily preparing the place when the thugs arrived on motorbikes, jumped down and started brandishing their knives in a bid to scare them.
He said they quickly informed the police about the presence of the thugs, stating that “the police in the area quickly responded and the commander himself and his men arrived in four vehicles to ensure that there was peace and order in the place.”
