Policy Advisor of the New Patriotic Party Mr. Boakye Agyarko has taken a swipe at President John Dramani Mahama for claiming that Nana Akufo-Addo can’t be the President of Ghana.
Speaking on Oman FM’s political analysis programme “Boiling Point” Mr. Agyarko questioned whether President Mahama had become God to determine who ascends the presidency and who does not.
“Are you the one controlling the will and mind of God?’’ he asked.
President Mahama, who was addressing a mini rally at Ayirebi in the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency of the Eastern region, accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer of jumping over himself that he had already won the December polls.
“Power rests in the hands of God; He decides who becomes a leader. So when I see somebody (Nana Addo) carrying himself as an already elected President, I say if God says he won’t make you a President, you can move heaven and earth you will still not be President,” the NDC presidential candidate said.
But reacting to his comment, Mr. Boakye Agyarko indicated that President Mahama’s comment exposes him as a shallow minded person.
He could not fathom why President Mahama who keeps saying that God is the one who ordain leaders would arrogate himself the powers of Almighty God and write off Nana Addo.
“He (President Mahama) has continually said that God is the one who ordain leaders and in the same breath he is saying that Nana Addo can’t be the president. You have admitted that God ordain leaders so why are saying that somebody can’t be the president. Why don’t you leave it to God?
