The Greater Accra Regional branch of the opposition New Patriotic Party on Thursday shook the foundation of Accra, Ghana's capital, with what it called 'City Ride To Victory'' car float.
The ‘City Ride To Victory’, which is a new campaign strategy by the NPP, was in the form of branding of private vehicles with NPP colours and driving through some principal streets of Accra, Teshie, Nungua, Tema and Madina.

The 9 hours ride which started from La, a suburb of Accra and ended at Madina Zongo junction witnessed an impressive attendance as over 200 vehicles branded with NPP colours participated in the exercise.

Some Members of Parliament who joined the exercise included the MP for Tema East Hon. Titus Glover, MP for Ablekuma West Hon. Ursula Owusu Ekuful as well as Parliamentary candidates for Tema West, Madina , Krowor and LA Dadekotopon constituencies.
Enthusiastic supporters of the NPP wielded placards which captured various policies the next NPP government will be implementing including “1- District 1-Factory”, “Zongo Development Fund”, “Free SHS”, and “Coastal Development Authorities.”

The exercise created a terrible vehicular traffic situation in Accra as commuters had to spend more hours in traffic than as usual before reaching their destination.
Speaking to Oman News, the Greater Accra Regional Organiser of the NPP Mr. Archibald Cobbinah, who commended supporters of the party for availing themselves and also making their vehicles available for the exercise urged Ghanaians to reject the governing National Democratic Congress in the upcoming polls.

According to him, it would be disastrous to renew the mandate of NDC for another term in office since they have mismanaged the economy and brought untold hardships on Ghanaians.
He accused President Mahama administration for engaging in profligate spending and stealing the nation’s resources for their cronies and family members.

“We have to bid bye bye to President John Dramani Mahama and NDC come December 7 because they are nation wreckers,” he said.
He was optimistic that Ghanaians would give the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo the opportunity to become President and create jobs for the teaming youth and also create opportunities for all.
