The policy advisor of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Mr. Boakye Agyarko, has indicated that the next NPP government will review all abandoned projects started by past governments and complete them so that the citizens could derive the intended benefits of those projects.
He said the party would introduce what he described as ‘National Assets Protection Programme’, as part of plan to address the situation where succeeding governments abandoned projects of the previous administration.
“What we are saying is that if by the grace of God we’re are given the opportunity to come into government we will introduce National Assets Protection Programme to make sure that all abandoned projects are completed. We will expand infrastructure to every constituency to ease the burden of Ghanaians,” Mr. Agyarko assured.
Speaking on Oman FM's political analysis programme "Boiling Point" on Tuesday, Mr. Boakye Agyarko said the party would undertake a comprehensive review of all abandoned projects and carried out assessment of which one had to be continued immediately and which one had to be restructured.
That, he explained, would ensure that the state got value for money.
Mr. Agyarko disclosed that the party's committee in charge of infrastructure had already begun auditing some of the abandoned projects and the ones the ruling National Democratic Congress had started to give them a fair idea of the state of the various projects.
He assured that the next NPP government, led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo -Addo, would undertake massive infrastructural projects and implement pro-poor policies to improve on the living conditions of Ghanaians.
