Tema Central MP organises Free Health Screening for constituents

The New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Tema Central Constituency in the Greater Accra region Hon. Kofi Brako has organised a free health screening for his constituents.

The exercise which covered about 1,000 people comprising the youth and the elderly benefited residents from community 4,6,7,8,9,10,11 and 12.

They were screened of Malaria, Hypertension,Hepitatis B, HIV/AIDS and Breast Cancer as well as Eye Testing and Ear and Nose examination.

Over 50 Medical staff from Tema General Hospital, Narh-Bita and Crystal hospitals were there to support to the exercise.

This is the second time the MP has organised such exercise. The first event was in 2013, where he engaged about 20 medical Team from the United States of America.

Speaking to Oman News Hon Kofi Brako indicated that the exercise form part of his policy to ensure that his constituents are healthy in order to about their normal duties and contribute their quota to the country's development.

"When I was campaigning during the 2012 elections I promised the people that I will implement programmes and interventions which will improve their health so since I became the MP I have done a lot to improve on the living conditions and making sure that my people are healthy. I have constructed antenatal centre at the Tema General Hospital to cater for the nursing mothers who there for treatment, I have constructed toilet facilities for some public schools, I have constructed Prisco football pitch at community and I now working on the Valco park. I have also sponsored some Senior High School students," he explained.

Hon Kofi Brako is convinced that given the level of developments he has initiated in the constituency even in opposition in his first term, his constituents will look at his contributions and retained him in the upcoming general elections so he could do more.

He appealed to Ghanaians to vote massively for the presidential candidate of the party Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

On his part, the 2nd vice Chairman of Tema Central constituency of the NPP Sylvester Yankey told Oman News that Hon Kofi Brako deserves a second term because of the tremendous developments he has brought to the people of Tema Central constituency.

He enumerated a number of projects the MP has initiated including constructing antenatal at the Tema General Hospital, provision of toilet facilities for some public schools and rehabilitation of sewer lines to improve on the sanitation situation in the constituency.

He was confident that the electorates would renew the MP's mandate for another term in office adding that the party is also determined to increase the votes for its flagbearer Nana Akufo -Addo in the upcoming general elections.
