The New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate for Awutu Senya West Constituency in the Central Region Nenyi George Andah says although his quest to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area Hon. Hannah Serwaa Tetteh is a herculean one he is confident of victory in the upcoming general elections. Nenyi George Addah who likened the battle between the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate and himself to the Biblical story of David and Goliath said he had handed over the battle to the Lord just as David did and was able to defeat Goliath. “The Awutu Senya West battle is the exact situation of David and Goliath. I have handed over the battle to the Lord and the electorates. I’m not going into this battle with my own might but the Lord’s. The people of Awutu Senya West are discerning. Everywhere I go, they keep telling me that we will neither be deceived nor confused by last minute projects. ,” he pointed out. Nenyi who was speaking to Fiifi Boafo host of Oman FM’s National Agenda on Wednesday indicated that he was confident the electorates would remember the massive developments and pro-poor policies which were implemented during the 8 years of NPP government led by President Kufour and policies the next NPP government led Nana Akufo-Addo will implement and vote for the party. “I’m convinced that our commitment to implement Free SHS policy, Restoration of teacher and nursing trainee allowances, one District one Factory project, one constituency 1 million dollars annually for infrastructural developments, election of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, reduction of electricity tariffs and job creation policies will give the people of Awutu Senya constituency hope to vote for massively for Nana Akufo-Addo and myself,” he noted. The former Chief Marketing officer of Telecommunication giant MTN, and Chief Operating Officer of Globacom Ghana argued that it was about time the incumbent Member of Parliament is voted out, claiming she has failed to champion the development of the constituency. “If there is somebody who represented our constituency and left and came back and yet still things are not going well in the constituency, and is asking for another four year term to correct what she has not be able to do after eight years, then you should know that such a person has nothing more to offer,” he stated. He accused Hon. Hannah Serwaa Tetteh of engaging in last minutes projects because of the upcoming elections after abandoning the constituency. George Andah underscored the need for his constituents to look at his personal contribution so far even in opposition and his corporate track record, and consider voting for him.
