Oman fm on Sunday held a prayer session for the country ahead of the December 7 polls.

The prayer session which was dubbed “save Ghana Prayerfest 2016” is an initiative by Oman fm with the aim of ensuring that this year’s election is peaceful.

The programme among other things was also to seek for divine intervention concerning the elections so that the will of god and desires of the electorate will be fulfilled.

The programme brought together different Christian denominational churches in Madina and beyond.

Some politicians including the Member of Parliament for okaikoi north hon. Elizabeth Sackey attended the programme.

The atmosphere was charged as the gathering praised god and prayed for almost four hours for peaceful elections.

The chairman of Christian praise international centre (CPIC) Apostle Dr. Stephen Owusu Jackson who led prayers for the electoral commission underscored the need for the chairperson of the commission madam charlotte Osei her deputies to ensure that the election is organized in a free, fair and transparent manner.

Apostle Chief Addae, the founder of Kings Power Chapel speaking to Oman news emphasized on the need for peaceful elections.

In an interview with Oman, Evangelist Michael creg Afful, who is the organiser of “save Ghana Prayerfest”, explained the rationale behind the programme.

“It is written in Jeremiah 29:7 and it states “also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. pray to the lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper”. so we have a role to play as Christians and we give glory to God that we have what He asked us to do,” he explained.
