The 2nd vice Chairman of the Central Regional branch of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Joe Donkoh, has asked the electorates in the region to ignore President Mahama's appeal to them to give him another term in order to complete the remaining 200 Community Day Senior High Schools he promised during 2012 elections.

According to him, President Mahama has failed to fulfill his own campaign promises all because he lacks the competence to govern and so given him another term will spell doom for the country.

"He can tickle himself and laugh. But what I will say is that nobody pay attention to him because he is a failure,” he argued.

Speaking at the inauguration of new Abodoman Community Day Senior High School in the Central Region President Mahama said, “In my next term of office, by the grace of God, we will complete all the 200 new senior high schools that I promised. As I said, currently, 123 are under construction, and that means that the Central Region will receive additional secondary schools among the remaining over seventy schools that we shall build."

He said many of the 123 schools under construction will be ready before December elections.

But responding to President Mahama in an interview on Oman FM Chairman Joe Donkoh as he is affectionately called, accused President Mahama of being deceitful.

"You said you were going to build 200 community schools by the end of your four years term. At least you should have built 50 schools but so far only 9 schools have been completed and commissioned and your term is almost ended. So clearly you don't deserve another term because you're a complete failure," he stated.

Joe Donkoh described as laughable assertion by President Mahama that his administration deserves commendation for reviving the defunct Komenda Sugar Factory

"For you to say that you have done well because you have revived the Komenda Sugar Factory so we should give you another term, to me, is an insult" and the biggest joke. I will go and borrow 10,000 dollars and dash it to anyone supermarket or a provision shop in cape coast or any parts of Central Region retailing a tin of sugar from the factory. In fact the factory is not working so Mahama should give us a break,” he declared.

Touching on government plans to create more Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies across the country as announced by President Mahama, the NPP man wondered why government was considering that plan since the existing MMDAs are already failing to deliver on their core mandate due to government inability to advance resources to them.

He urged people in the central region to reject President Mahama in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections and vote massively for the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
