A veteran Journalist and former staff of the Chronicle Newspaper, Osbert Lartey, has Osbert Lartey revealed that the governing NDC recruited about 200 youth and sent them to Cuba to be trained as terrorists prior to the 2008 presidential and parliamentary elections.

According to him, the NDC became apprehensive of losing the elections and as part of their plans sent those guys to Cuba to be trained as terrorists so they will return to Ghana and cause mayhem should the elections not go in their favour.

Osbert Lartey speaking on Oman FM’s National Agenda show on Monday accused the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) of being a violent and lawless party.

“NDC is a violent and lawless party and Ghanaians shouldn’t entertain them,” he stated.

He was reacting to comments by President Mahama and the NDC which suggest that flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is a violent person.

Osbert who expressed disgust at the government for creating a false impression about the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) said he was amazed when functionaries of NDC made a lot of noise over decision by NPP to invite three South Africans to train the personal security of its flagbearer.

“Sometimes I wonder whether the NDC has forgotten what they did in 2008. In 2008, the NDC sent 200 youth to Cuba to be trained as terrorists just to come and create mayhem. I did a report about it. The report is still available I can give it out,” he told host of the show, Fiifi Boafo.
