The Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Kwame Bafo popularly known as “Abronye” has launched a scathing attack on President John Dramani Mahama for describing Presidential Candidate of his party Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as a dictator.
Speaking on Oman FM's political analysis programme "Boiling Point", Kwame Bafo who expressed sharp disagreement with President Mahama for saying that Nana Addo is a dictator condemned him for creating a false impression of what does not exist.
President John Mahama while addressing supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Bimbilla in the Northern Region asked Ghanaians not to risk voting a divided New Patriotic Party (NPP) presided over by a dictator into office.
President Mahama who accused NPP flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo for failing to unite his party said he (Nana Addo) should not be voted for in the December elections.
The president was playing on disciplinary action taken by the National Executive Committee (NEC) the NPP which upheld recommendations of the party’s disciplinary committee to suspend three national officers for stated misbehavior.
But responding to the issue, the outspoken NPP Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser wondered why President Mahama chose to say that NPP is divided, when the party is united and formidable and poised to win the December 7 polls.
He argued that the National Democratic Congress is rather divided and cited several instances which have brought disagreements in the party to buttress his point.
“As we speak Kwawu South DCE, Joseph Omari has been suspended. In Weija Gbawe constituency, 27 polling executives are also on suspension. In Bunkpurugu Yoyo too, the NDC has suspended its Communication Director. In Tepa constituency, they have also suspended their constituency treasurer. In Ketu South constituency the party has also suspended the man who contested Fiifi Kwetey and in North Tongu, 4 executives have also been suspended. So if all this has happened in NDC and yet President Mahama turned a blind eye on them, then I will not be the one to say that President Mahama is an anti-Christ.”
“Flt. Lieutenant John Jerry Rawlings, who founded the NDC and his wife Mrs. Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, were vilified and treated badly by the party under late John Evans Atta Mills and Mahama administration to the extent that Mrs. Rawlings had to exit and found her own party,” he added.
Kwame Bafo was flabbergasted that President Mahama just played on disciplinary action taken by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of NPP, which upheld recommendations of the party’s disciplinary committee to suspend three national executives for stated misbehavior to conclude that Nana Addo is a dictator.
Kwame Bafo who minced no words by describing President Mahama as an “anti- Christ” noted that under the watch of President Mahama some 35 executives of NDC in about 5 constituencies have been suspend from the party, but swept it under the carpet and rather spoke about that of the NPP.
Sharing of V8 cars
Kwame Bafo who accused President Mahama of engaging in reckless dissipation of state funds alleged that President Mahama has so far distributed 44 V8 cars which cost about GH 18 million to some traditional leaders in the country in a bid to induce them to endorse him ahead of the December 7 polls.
According to him, such an insensitive president doesn’t need a second term in office and urged the electorates to vote out him out in the upcoming general elections.
