NDC will kill Montie trio judges if they are retained in power-NPP Man

A leading Member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kwabena Sarpong, believes the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not spare the lives of the Supreme Court judges who presided over the Montie trio case if Ghanaians make the mistake of retaining them in power in the upcoming general elections.

He stated that the NDC administration under the watch of President Mahama could order the execution of those judges since the party had a history of murdering judges.

“If President Mahama has been able to free Montie trio, then what happened in 1982 will be repeated when the NDC is retained in power,” he posited.

His comments follows President Mahama’s decision to remit the remaining jail term of two radio panelists Alistair Tairo Nelson and Godwin Arko Gunn as well as Salifu Maase aka Mugabe, host of “Pampaso” programme on Montie FM who were sentenced for four months for threatening to kill Supreme Court judges.

Speaking on Oman FM’s political analysis programme “Boiling Point” Mr. Kwabena Sarpong, who accused President Mahama of being “unpatriotic and insensitive” warned Ghanaians against retaining President Mahama and the NDC.

“If you vote for President Mahama again, those judges there, their lives will be in danger,” he cautioned.

“This man must be voted out completely. He doesn’t have Ghanaians at heart,” he added.

He described the ruling NDC a party which had developed a bad for the judiciary claiming that the NDC made several attempts to remove Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood from office in 2009, but they could not do so.

“They did everything possible to remove Chief Justice from office. Why do you think Dr. Kwabena Adjei (former Chairman of NDC) said there are so many ways of killing a cat? So why anybody should be surprised about what is happening with the Montie trio case?” he indicated.

Mr. Kwabena Sarpong advised members of the judiciary to prioritize their security saying they are not safe under President Mahama.
