Ghanaian Voters have been warned not to allow freebies and goodies, which will be given to them by politicians to influence their choice of both Presidential and Parliamentary candidates on the day of elections.
Renowned Ghanaian International Preacher and founder of Liberty Global Church in UK, Bishop Prince Harry Hampel, who gave the warning, said it would be an unwise decision for any voter to cast his or her vote based on the goodies he or she received from a candidate.
“There is no point for you to allow your vote to be bought by a contesting candidate for a little money. One should bear in mind that if you are offered with for instance rice or Ghc 100 it wouldn’t take you more than three days and it will get finished,” he said.
He added that, “What Ghanaians have to know is that term of office is four years so don’t follow money as far as this year’s election is concerned.”
Speaking in an interview with Oman FM, Bishop Prince Hampel emphasized the need for the electorates to rather assess the competencies and capabilities of each of the candidates before casting their votes for any of them.
He charged the electorates to be mindful of their decision, since the outcome would be either
positive or negative.
“I’m pleading with all the electorates to depend on their conscience and also listen to God. Don’t follow money. Because if you follow money and you go and vote for a wrong candidate you should know that it is four years term and so if its hardship you will go through it for 1460 days.”
Bishop Prince Hampel also cautioned politicians who have been insulting eminent Ghanaians including the clergy to desist from such practice saying it is not the best.
He indicated that the Bible frown on ruining insults on the elderly noting that there are serious consequences against those who engage in such behaviour.
