Police in Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region have shot and killed a 27 -year-old suspected armed robber at Christian Village, a suburb of Ashaiman.
The deceased, Daniel Duodu aka “Papa Dan” said to be an ex-convict was shot dead after he opened fire on the police on Friday dawn.

The body of the deceased has since been conveyed to the police hospital for autopsy.
Briefing the media, the Tema Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Juliana Obeng, said the police received a distress call at about 4am on Friday, that a house, which is close to the Tema International School in Christian Village had been broken into by some armed robbers.
She said the police upon reaching the scene saw the deceased moving from room to room and order him to come, but he refused and opened fire on the police with a locally made pistol.
The police, according to ASP Juliana Obeng, retaliated and in the process the deceased was shot and killed.

Four live cartridges and a pistol were retrieved by the police.
