A High Court Judge at the Accra Land Court, Justice Kwabena Asuman Adu, has charged Ghanaians to do everything possible to ensure that the 2016 presidential and parliamentary election is made peaceful.

"Let's not destroy our beautiful country in the name of elections. God has been so good to us for all these years, so let's maintain the peace we are enjoying," Justice Asuman Adu advised.

According to him, there was no need for the electorates to instigate violence during and after the declaration of the 2016 elections results because the party they voted for lost the elections.

"If you are lucky and the party you voted for won praised God. But if that party doesn't win, remember that it is God who set up Kings so you don’t have to cause trouble," he stated.

Justice Asuman Adu, who was speaking on Oman FM, noted that Ghana has pass through six successful elections without experiencing any electoral violence and underscored the need for all to work hard to maintain the peace and stability the country is enjoying.

Touching on the ongoing voter exhibition exercise, Justice Asuman Adu urged the electorates to go and get verified in order to ensure that their names are captured in the register.

He said it would be detrimental for any electorate to assume that his or her name is still captured in the voters register, saying EC is a human institution and therefore can make mistakes.

"You would have yourself to blame if you don't go and verify your name and on the election day and you're told your name is noted captured in the register," he stated
