The Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Central Region Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has donated some assorted food items to about 15 Muslims communities in the Greater Accra Region ahead of the Eid-al Fitr celebrations.

The items included 240 bags of stallion rice and 24 boxes of 5 litre cooking oil.

Some of the communities which benefited from the items are Ashaiman, Nima, Adenta, Fadama and Madina.

The items which were presented to the Muslims at the fore court of Madina based Oman FM was witnessed by several Muslims.

The Chief Imam of Madina Sheikh Mutawakill received the items on behalf of the Muslims for onward distribution to all the beneficiary communities.

A similar presentation was done at the Fore of Ashh FM in Kumasi, Ashanti Regional Capital for the Muslim communities.

The Assin Central MP who is noted for his generosity and philanthropic gestures does this annually with the sole aim of putting smiles on faces of Muslims after a month period of Ramadan.

Speaking to Oman FM, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong praised Allah for given him another opportunity to put smiles on the faces of fellow human beings.

He said although times are hard he had managed to donate the items in order to make them happy.

Hon. Kennedy Agyapong said he has bonded with the Muslims in the country because they are loyal, sincere and dedicated to their pursuits in life.

The Assin Central legislator who rejected the tag that Muslims are violent people stated that whoever is holding that view is getting it wrong.

According to him, Muslims hates cheating and therefore opposes anyone who wants to cheat them.

“If you say Muslims are violent people what I will say is that you don’t know them well. They are honest, sincere and dedicated people,” he asserted.

Hon. Kennedy Agyapong used the occasion to call on Ghanaians to be vigilant during the upcoming general elections.

According to him, the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) is plotting to rig the elections despite the poor performance of President John Dramani Mahama.

On his part, Chief Imam of Madina Sheikh Mutawakill who received the items on behalf of the Muslims commended Hon. Kennedy Agyapong for his numerous contributions for the Muslims.

He thanked him for giving Muslims airtime on Oman FM, Ashh FM and NET 2 TV for preaching.

He added that Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has also single handedly sponsored the education of several Muslim youth in the country.

Sheikh Mutawakill prayed for Allah’s blessings on the MP.
