NPP leaders are not corrupt like President Mahama- Freddie Blay

The Acting National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Freddie Blay is incensed over attempts by members of the ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC) to brand NPP leaders as corrupt.

Mr. Freddie Blay accused the governing NDC for associating his party’s leadership with corruption.

He noted that since the revelations by investigative journalist Manasseh Awuni Azure that President John Dramani Mahama received “Ford Expedition” gift worth $ 100,000 from a renowned Burkinabe contractor Djibril Kanazoe, who was awarded Government of Ghana road contract, the NDC has become uncomfortable and trying hard to equalize by accusing the leadership of NPP of being corrupt.

He wondered why the NDC keep pointing accusing fingers at him and the flagbearer of NPP Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo as well as other national executives of NPP for embezzling funds belonging to the party.

Speaking to Oman News, Freddie Blay, who rejected the accusation against them by NDC, explained that his party set up a 5 member eminent committee to investigate into some allegations which were leveled against them recently by some disgruntled members of NPP.

According to him, the committee in its report exonerate them of any wrongdoing and therefore expressed surprised why the NDC will still capitalize on what he considered to be falsehood.

He argued that NDC members have taken that path just to throw dust into the eyes of discerning Ghanaians and discredit the leadership of NPP ahead of November 7 polls.

Mr. Freddie Blay said his party’s flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo –Addo is not corrupt like President Mahama who has been cited in many corruption scandals.

The NPP’s acting who challenged President Mahama to comment on the revelations by Manasseh Awuni Azure also accused President Mahama for falling to fulfill lost of promises he made to Ghanaians during the 2012 electioneering campaigns.
