The 2016 Policy Advisor to the campaign team of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Agyarko, has lambasted the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) for doubting Nana Addo's promise to build one factory in each of the 216 Districts in the country.

He said he is not surprised that functionaries of the National Democratic Congress are doubting Nana Addo's promise because NDC has lost confidence in itself and Ghanaians.

"NDC party has confidence in itself and they have also lost confidence in Ghanaians that is why they are doubting Nana Addo's vision ," he said.

"Today, when you ask NDC people about their party's ideology what they will tell you is that "Mentumi Nye"(I cannot do it). That is how bad the situation has become ," Mr. Agyarko added.

Speaking on Oman FM's political analysis programme "Boiling Point" Mr Agyarko, who defended the party's plan to industrialised the economy by building factories across the country made reference to a similar promise by Ghana's first President late Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to build about 350 factories and was highly applauded for that bold ambition.

Mr. Agyarko noted that Dr. Nkrumah's vision of building 350 factories is captured in a policy document titled "Work and Happiness Report 1961" and asked the doubting thomases to cross check it for themselves.

"People forget things easily..and so what I will say is that those who may be doubting should go back to "Work and Happiness Programme" of 1961. President Kwame Nkrumah had a list of 350 factories that he intended to establish. Anybody can go and check," he suggested.

Mr. Agyarko, who is also the chairman of the NPP's Energy Committee questioned critics of the party's plan that if Dr Nkrumah had that ambition then what's wrong with NPP also having a similar ambition.

He clarified that what the party had planned to do is to undertake what he described as core competence assessment of each of the 2016 Districts saying "This step will guide us a government to know what kind of factory we're to build in each of the districts."

Mr Agyarko urged Ghanaians to reject the propaganda tool adopted by the NDC to discredit the party's vision.

He appealed to Ghanaians to have confidence in NPP and vote massively for the party during the upcoming elections to come to power and restore the sinking economy.
