The Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Brefo, has launched a scathing attack on the ruling National Democratic Congress accusing it of engaging in massive corruption and lawlessness.

According to him, the level of corruption in NDC government is unprecedented in the history of Ghana arguing that the canker has become a norm under the NDC administration.

Kwame Brefo noted that instead of the ruling NDC to ensure that their members who indulge in corrupt practices are made to face the full rigours of the law since society frowns on corruption and thievery, they rather elevate such people, to the office of the President.

“Today, NDC government has relocated Nsawam Prisons into the Presidency. They have turned the office of the President into a breeding ground of criminals,” he stated.

Kwame Brefo, who recently filed a suit against the Electoral Commission to challenge the credibility of the current voters register was speaking on Oman FM’s political analysis programme “Boiling Point” hosted by Martin Kwabena Kwakye.

In his bid to buttress the point that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has relocated Nsawam Prisons to the Presidency, Kwame Brefo indicated that “ The former CHRAJ boss Madam Lauretta Lamptey, who we all know to have wasted GHS700,000 on renting an apartment, resulting to her dismissal is now working in the office of the President. The former Sports Minister, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, who was also embroiled in the Brazil World Cup corruption scandal was applauded and elevated by President. Today, he is also working at the Presidency and he is being paid GHC8,000 monthly.” This is NDC administration for you.”

“How can Ghana move forward if such corrupt people are leading this country? he quipped.

The NPP Youth Organizer also took swipe at the Deputy General Secretary of NDC Koku Anyidoho for attacking Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) and Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) for asking the Electoral Commission to implement the Supreme Court’s ruling on the voters register.

The two bodies argued that considering the limited months the nation has to the November 2016 polls, the EC has to expedite action to ensure the electoral register is cleaned as directed by the Apex court.

A joint communiqué issued after a meeting in Accra said the EC must rid the register of persons who registered with the National Health Insurance Cards.

But the position of CCG and GPCC did not sit down well with the NDC chief scribe who in an interview called on the Rev. Dr. Opuni Frimpong, to rather remove his cassock and join politicians in carrying out their political activities.

Touching on the issue, Kwame Brefo who was flabbergasted about the comments made by Koku Anyidoho condemned him for spewing what he described as unprintable and unpalatable words on the General Secretary of Christian Council of Ghana, Rev. Kwabena Opuni Frimpong.

He argued that the two bodies are stakeholders in this year’s elections and so must be allowed to voice out their concerns since they will also be affected if there is any trouble in the country.

Kwame Brefo admonished the NDC administration to stop stealing the country’s wealth since their action is depriving Ghanaians of the needed development.

He catalogued a number of cases of corruption which has deprived the country of development.

“If $35 million dollars was used to build the new Komenda Sugar Factory, then common sense should tell you that, $80 million addition to the original cost of Ofankor road by NDC administration could have also given us factories.

94 million Euros involved in the Construction Pioneer (CP) corruption scandal, ask yourself how many factories it could be use to build. This is common sense. $25 million involved in Waterville scandal, it is common sense that it could have also given us a factory. $50 million Japan grants into SADA, it is common sense that it could have given us a factory.
