The outspoken New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin Central Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has asked his party to conduct thorough background checks on party members they intend to recruit as polling station agents for the November 7 polls.

This he said is to ensure that the party does not recruit polling agents who will be easily bribed.

According to him, available information to him indicates that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has planned to bribe NPP’s polling agents with money during the presidential and parliamentary elections.

“I’m calling on the NPP to conduct thorough background checks on all those they will recruit as polling agents for this year’s elections. I’m saying this because NDC has planned to buy our agents with money between GHS 1,000 and GHS 2,000.

Hon Kennedy Agyapong gave the advise on Oman FM’s political analysis programme “Boiling Point” hosted by Martin Kwabena Kwakye.

He explained that the governing NDC has conducted a number of opinion polls which shows that they will lose this year’s elections and therefore have device several plans including bribing NPP’s polling agents to pave way for them to rig the elections.
