The 2016 policy advisor to the campaign team of the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) Mr. Boakye Agyarko has chastised the governing National Democratic Congress(NDC) for failing to admit that it has failed in managing the country's energy sector.

He was flabbergasted that the ruling NDC keeps saying that it has done so much to improve the energy situation in the country, when evidence on the grounds points to the contrary.

Although Mr Agyarko acknowledged the fact that governing NDC has signed contracts with power producers like Karpower

, AMERI, Sahara Energy, ENI and Vitol Energy to increase the capacity of Ghana's power generation, he said they have not yielded positive results.

He made these remarks while contributing to discussions on Oman FM's political analysis programme "Boiling Point".

Ghana has been facing serious energy crisis since 2010 .

The situation has crippled businesses and thrown hundreds out of jobs.

Answering a question on what alternative solutions NPP is proposing to address the power crisis, Mr Agyarko argued that NPP would proffer solutions if the NDC administration first admit that it has failed in resolving the power crisis.

Mr Agyarko said Ghana is facing power crisis because of bad government policies and corruption.
