The Member of Parliament for Tema East Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover has scolded President John Dramani Mahama for claiming that he is fighting corruption vigorously.
“Is President Mahama serious at all? What does he take Ghanaians for? You haven’t done much to tackle corruption which is so endemic in your administration but you have the guts to go about deceiving Ghanaians that you are fighting corruption? Titus Glover quizzed.
In an interview with the BBC on the sidelines of the just ended Anti Corruption summit in UK, President Mahama said, his administration had fought corruption than any government has done in the history of Ghana.
President Mahama also said he has never taken a bribe when he was specifically asked if he had ever taken a bribe before.
But speaking on Oman FM’s National Agenda programme, Hon. Daniel Titus Glover, accused President John Dramani Mahama of being untruthful.
Hon. Titus Glover noted with disgust that corruption has become attractive in Ghana under the leadership of President Mahama.
“Today, corruption has become a profession in Ghana under the watch of President Mahama. Corruption has become so attractive under President Mahama. Mahama is paying lip service towards the fight against corruption that is why some of his appointees who been cited for corruption are walking freely.”
He chronicled a number of corruption scandals which has hit President Mahama administration including the GHS3.6million rebranding of 116 MMT buses.
He described the rebranding of the MMT buses as a complete waste of state resources.
“Is rebranding of these buses a priority? Titus Glover quipped.
The Tema East MP popularly known as MP3 chastised the former Transport Minister, Mrs. Dzifa Attivor, under whose watch the country expended GHS3.6million on rebranding of 116 MMT buses for inciting Voltarians against NPP.
“Because she is having bad dreams of certain actions, she is going round telling Voltarians not to vote for NPP because if the party’s comes to power they will jail her.”
