Two Union executives at the PSC Tema Shipyard have been dismissed by the Managing Director Ali Tunde for using offensive words on the placards they wielded during the May Day celebration at the Tema Sports Stadium.
They are Michael Ofori Frimpong, chairman of the Senior Staff Association and Samuel Ayensu, Secretary of the union.
Speaking to Oman News, Chairman of the Senior Staff Association Michael Ofori Frimpong, said they were working yesterday when their dismissal letters were handed over to them.
According to him, the said letters did not give reasons why their appointments were terminated.
He said they suspect their dismissal has something to do with the choice of words they used on the placards they wielded at the May Day celebration and a petition to President Mahama to relieve him from his post.
Michael Ofori Frimpong told Oman News their Managing Director lacks competence to manage the company and this he said is crippling the company in many ways.
“Things are not working since Tunde came,” he said.
The workers he said want President Mahama to dismiss him immediately to save the company from total collapse.
He accused Mr. Ali Tunde of misappropriating the company’s finances and engaging in unprofitable travels.
“When our former managing director was leaving he left over $2million in the company’s account. But Tunde has used the money to buy V8 for himself. He also travels outside very often,” he alleged.
