The National Youth Organizer of the largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Sammy Awuku has expressed anger at President John Dramani Mahama over his recent comments that his administration has created several opportunities and that it was up to those with skills to take advantage.

Speaking in an interview with Oman News, Sammy Awuku questioned what kind of skills President Mahama was talking about when several graduates are sitting in the house because of lack of jobs.

“Is President Mahama saying the coalition of unemployed nurses and teachers are not skilled persons? Is president Mahama saying that graduates from the School of Hygiene in Korle- Bu who have been in the house for five years without posting are not skilled? Is President Mahama saying that those who have completed National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) are not skilled persons? Is president Mahama saying that University and Polytechnic graduates who have completed their national service are not skilled? he quipped.

Sammy Awuku challenged President Mahama to come clear, else he would interpret what he said to mean those who have skilled in thievery and corruption.

He described it as painful and disheartening that President Mahama could be taking Ghanaians youth for granted and behaving like a farmer doesn’t care about the extent weeds around his or her palm plantation because he knows very well that whether he clear them or not they will grow for him or her to harvest it one day.

Sammy Awuku told Oman News that the youth Wing of the NPP will soon come out to respond to President Mahama’s comments.
