The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi- Boasiako has urged Ghanaians to vote out President Mahama led NDC administration during the November 7 polls to save the country from total collapse. Mr. Antwi Boasiako, who branded President John Dramani Mahama as a nation wrecker, warned Ghanaians against retaining him for another four years term, saying it will spell further doom for the country. Speaking in a telephone interview with Oman News from New Edubiase during the launching of the New Edubiase Constituency campaign for the 2016 elections, Chairman Wontumi, as he is popularly called further accused President Mahama of deception. “President is a liar and dishonest person,” he stated. He took a swipe at the NDC government led by President Mahama for reneging on its manifesto promise to introduce what it called “Onetime premium” policy which will ensure that National Health Insurance Scheme subscribers make onetime payment. “When NPP was in power, it introduced the National Health Insurance Scheme to cushion Ghanaians because of the difficulties they go through before they could access healthcare. When NDC took over, they promised to introduce onetime premium policy, which means that when you pay once, you wouldn’t have to pay again not knowing they were deceiving us.” Mr. Antwi Boasiako indicated. Mr. Antwi Bosiako blamed President Mahama for mismanaging the economy leading to what he described as high rate of unemployment and high utility tariffs. He recalled how NDC made a lot of noise when it promised "Better Ghana Agenda" during the 2012 General Elections, but regretted that what was supposed to be better has now turned to be "Bitter Ghana" thus compelling many Ghanaians to groan. Mr. Antwi Bosiako appealed to Ghanaians to vote for the flagbearer of NPP Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to restore the country on sound economic footing. He further appealed to the chiefs and people of new Edubiase to vote for the party's parliamentary candidate Mr. George Oduro. Story by: Michael Creg Afful
