Apostolic Church Pastor, Elder shot dead by robbers

The Head Pastor of the Kayaji District of the Apostolic Church Ghana in the Sene East District of the Brong Ahafo Region, and an elder of the church, were on Sunday morning shot dead by armed robbers.
The two, Overseer Essien B. Sackey and Elder Ampaw, were shot while traveling to Ashanti Mampong in the Ashanti Region.
An eyewitness, Kwabena Manu, told that the tragic incident happened around 8:00am on Sunday morning.
He said the two who were on a motorbike upon reaching the Atebubu-Kumasi road, were stopped by the armed robbers.
He narrated that because they were speeding, they stopped few meters away from where the robbers were.
“…Because of the speed, they went further before stopping and the armed robbers thought they were trying to run away and they shot at them,” the eyewitness added
Manu further added that the robbers did not take anything from the deceased persons.
He said the Police who arrived at the scene later conveyed the bodies to the Ashanti Mampong government hospital morgue.
