The Chairman of the Ghana Chapter of the pro-opposition NPP group, Coalition to Elect Nana Addo and Bawumia (CENAB) Kweku Osei Bonsu has expressed disgust at President John Dramani Mahama over his attempt to discredit Kufour administration.

According to him, the country witnessed massive infrastructural development projects as well as the introduction of several pro-poor policies during the 8 year period of NPP.

Kweku Osei Bonsu averred that for President Mahama to be going rounds and telling people that the New Patriotic Party led by Mr. John Agyekum Kufour did nothing for the country smacks of nothing, but propaganda tool to deceive Ghanaians.

“We are not children. When Ghanaians gave Kufuor 8 years he did massive projects. In fact, the money Kufour administration used for all the projects cannot be compared with the huge resources Mahama administration has had for almost eight years in office. Mahama administration has borrowed so much, but greater part of the money has gone into their pockets,” he noted.

President Mahama, who has been touring some parts of the country while in Volta Region, slammed the Kufour administration for not doing any projects in that region.

But speaking to Oman News in an interview during the launch of “Try Nana Addo campaign” in Tema, Mr. Kweku Osei Bonsu disagreed with President Mahama’s assertion.

He said it will take only a dishonest and devious person such as President Mahama to make such claims when the NPP eight years track record is there for the public to verify.

He accused Mahama administration of collapsing the social intervention programmes introduced by the Kufour administration.

“Programmes Kufour introduced such as the School feeding, free transportation for school children, free maternal care, and national health insurance scheme have all collapsed under Mahama,” he stated.

Mr. Kweku Bonsu lashed out at President Mahama for failing to fulfill his own election promise of building 200 community day schools in the first term of his administration.

He said President Mahama said he will build 200 schools, but has managed to build only six, remaining 194 schools yet to be built.

“So how can we trust such a President? Mr. Kweku Osei Bonsu quizzed.
