A leading member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Atebubu Amanten in the Brong Ahafo Region, Kwaku Duah, is calling on their Member of Parliament, Hon. Sanja Nanja to resign.

According to him, the MP has brought a huge disgrace to the NDC as party in the area by spewing abusive words on the Queen mother of Atebubu Nana Afuah Denyina during an interview on Accra based radio station Pink FM.

Although, Hon. Sanja Nanja has rendered an unqualified apology to the Atebubu Traditional Council for insulting the Queen mother after a statement from the council banning him from entering Atebubu Manhene’s palace and attending several other social events that will be organized in the traditional area, Kweku Duah believes it is not enough.

Speaking in an interview with Oman News, Kweku Duah noted that the conduct of Hon. Sanja Nanja after his apology clearly shows that he hasn’t shown any remorse for his behaviour.

“I think Hon. Sanja Nanja should resign because he has disgraced NDC,” he suggested.

According to him, the MP had said friends persuaded him to apologize to the Atebubu Traditional Council and the Queen mother else he wouldn’t have done it.

Kweku Duah said the action of the MP has infuriated the indigenes of Atebubu adding that the youth mobilized themselves and stormed Atebubu manhene’s palace when they heard that the MP has sent someone to come there and render an apology on his behalf.
