President John Dramani Mahama has been urged to sack Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Alhaji Collins Dauda for being the cause of the violent clashes in Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo region which led to the burning down of NDC constituency office in the area.

Supporters of the District Chief Executive for Atebubu-Amanten, Sampson Owusu Boateng and MP for the area, Hon. Sanga Nanja engaged in violent clashes on Tuesday following the refusal of the dismissed DCE to leave his post.

Although, the DCE has been dismissed through a letter signed by the Local Government Minister, he is refusing to step down claiming that his dismissal was orchestrated by Alhaji Collins Dauda without the knowledge of President Mahama.

Speaking on the issue on Oman FM’s National Agenda, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Ningo –Prampram Sylvester Tetteh, said his analysis of the whole issue has made him to be convinced that Hon. Collins Dauda is the brain behind the dismissal of the DCE.

He was flabbergasted over the developments which resulted in the loss of properties with one fire officer being injured.

“Collins Dauda should be sacked by President Mahama because he is culpable for what happened,” he suggested.

He accused him of scheming against the DCE during the NDC parliamentary primaries last year.

Sylvester Tetteh noted that the DCE Hon. Sampson Owusu Boateng picked nomination forms to contest the Atebubu seat, but was disqualified without any cogent reason.

He explained that the party has since not been able to assign any good reason for his disqualification.

According to him, the party led by Hon. Collins Dauda made sure that the DCE was disqualified because they knew very well that their favourite who is the incumbent MP will lose the elections if they allow the DCE to contest him.

Delving deeper into the violent nature of the NDC as a party, Sylvester Tetteh described NDC as the most violent political party in the history of Ghana.

He said NDC doesn’t care even if they have to eliminate someone in order to get power.

“My concern is that NDC is very violent party to the extent that even if they have to take your life for political power they will do it. That is what we are seeing,” he pointed out.

He chronicled a number of atrocities the NDC has committed during elections particularly in by-elections.

“Do you remember the beating of MP for Ashaiman, Hon. Alfred Agbesi by supporters of Ernest Norgbey, who is now NDC parliamentary candidate for Ashaiman? A whole Deputy majority leader was beaten mercilessly. Do you also remember the confusion in Ellembelle in the Western Region between NDC chairman and another faction the party where acid was poured on some people? Do you remember what happened in Ningo-Prampram during the NDC primaries? Do you remember between the Supporters of Fiifi Kwetey MP for Ketu South constituency and supporters of his opponent? Sylvester Tetteh quipped.
